Sorry for the novice question, but I’m new to 10th planet. What is the best way to go about mastering the 10th planet techniques? Watching this video is difficult because I don’t know what dogfight and these different techniques are. Is getting one of the books or DVDs the best way?
Hey Douglas, great question. I have been on this journey for a little while myself and continue to ask the same. The books and DVDs will help you with the names for sure, but so will this thread in the members forum. There is a sticky titled “MTS Technique Guide”. It has a LOT of details in there. The technique list will link to specific vids that will help define and teach each move.
find a satellite school. or get baked and dedicate 4 hours each day to watching MTS. But ultimately, you need open minded training partners to drill the techniques while naming positions to yourself, or out loud, as you roll

I watched every MTS before I ever entered a jiu jitsu school. I found myself going to rubber guard just to get passed like a bitch, immediately. It’s better now but I prefer a Sean Williams guard – just evolution.
You can’t learn jiu jitsu from videos, you can only augment it with videos.
sorry – also, if there isn’t a 10p school near you. Most places have nogi classes where the 10th planet techniques inevitably come up. My school does alot of work from lockdown and the truck, for example. (Not so much from mission control, though)
