Are you kidding me? It's not like he did a bunch of ADCC events and lost, he's only done a few no-gi tournaments ever.

Gi/No-Gi is literally the lamest false division/debate ever. Robson is probably a top 10 Jiu-Jitsu competitor of all time, period.

My quote is accurate!!! Robson has Not had the same success in no-gi as he had in Gi. Period. Don't take it like I'm saying he sucks.

When he fought in a Gi he was almost unbeatable!!!! No-gi you can't say the same thing. Yes, he didn't compete in many no-gi tournaments. But he fought in enough to know he wasn't the BEST no-gi guy out there.

The perception is there that he was a much better Gi guy: Even Slick Rick was talking about it.

Yes, you are right that he is a top 10 BJJ competitor of all time. Would never debate that.

. Robson is a boss, and if he had been able to do ADCC in 03/05/07/09 he would have been right there with the Roylers, Rani Yahyas, Leo Vieiras, Cobrinhas, and Rafa Mendes.

He's way past his competitive prime and did fantastic at ADCC last year. The only time he didn't look beast mode was when Glover wrapped his head up and when Rafa leg dragged him.

Fair enough. I think I got confused by the semantics. I still believe he would've made it to the final four of any of those ADCC brackets in those 8 years but I got you. When BJJ Heroes first started they actually had Robson at #2 or 3 I think all time, but they started using a point system, and over the last few years some names have kept racking up multiple world titles and he's been knocked off the list.

I agree he's not that old, but he's at the age where he's likely to be able to hang at top but might have a hard time closing the deal in the semi finals and finals of the big tournaments. There's so many new people coming up the pipe and so many factors for winning the Worlds or ADCC anyways. I really think you could pick any bracket run it 5 or 10 times and get at least 2 or 3 different winners.

I know it's going off topic but take the Medio/Middle. Right below Marcelo Garcia you have Kron Gracie, Caludio Calasans, Murilo Santana, Davi Ramos, & Victor Estima. Any of those 5 can beat each other on any given day, and on the right day I think Davi Ramos could beat Marcelo eventually. Every division is getting beyond stacked right now. There are almost no easy picks anymore.

Any of those 5 can beat each other on any given day, and on the right day I think Davi Ramos could beat Marcelo eventually. Every division is getting beyond stacked right now. There are almost no easy picks anymore.

IMO, Marcelo isn't losing to anyone in his weight for a long while. I would love to see Marcelo & Rafael Mendes match up. Yeah, Davi Ramos is a beast! He's so explosive & fun to watch!

Yeah, but I think the Glover kneebar he didn't tap to is catching up to him. After that kneebar he only managed to win one more medal and hasn't been the same.

And Robson is the man. I've met him a couple times when he comes up to my coach at tournaments, very cool dude. I watch his competition footage all the time along with Shaolin to figure out half guard.

Absolutely. I heard him called the Ron Paul of grappling. Fits nicely. Not many people can finish Calasans, beat Vinny Magalhaes, and lose to Kron and Galvao on negative points from sitting guard in the points period, and still not be talked about. No one gives Murilo any props.
