liking the sounds of the omaha whip basically i'm a big guys and hes at like 230lbs right now and is a former wrestler so he is very very good at driving pressure and riding weight. i was getting the jaws of life np but just couldnt dig in to get underhooks cause he was low if i would of the underhooks prolly would have only gone as deep as my forearm if that makes since. I usually have great sucess with my half gaurd path to twister side control i'm awful from butterflys and full guard so i do all work from this path. I'm gonna have to look in the other paths available to me and work what i'm not strong with.

If I were you I'd just play butterflies all the time. I would work those butterflies Til they cant fly anymore. The stickier the butterflies the better man. Once that game develops you'll be surprised how comfortable you'll be with one hook, or even forcing hooks. Just work your deficiencies. :-)

Yea man, if you're a rubber guard player at all then capitalize on those overhooks.

Man now I feel bad for putting him on the spot like that. He showed us the technique at the seminar in St. Louis.

Nah John, he's not on blast. He's 10th planet family. I just want him to share to goods. I've gotten more reps in with lockdown than butterflies so I'd rather use the Omaha whip than go to stomp. The other day my lockdown got shut down pretty well since I couldn't get the other underhook. And I was hesitant to go to stomp because I forgot the series. Omaha whip would be a great addition for a guy like me.

Do not be afraid of the stomp. It might be hard even to get that elbow in. Stomp.

Meat hook and flying kungfu are also badass options, but if flexibility is an issue at all, refer to above.

The Omaha whip is my whip up of choice. Since Derek showed us we haven't looked back. Since the seminar in STL I haven't found a person I cant whip up. Even with a 80 pound weight difference. Its fucking legit.
