I have a question on the belt grades -

What is the criteria for a brown belt in 10P?

If you're a brown belt in BJJ then you're automatically a brown belt in 10thpjj too

Training is the criteria. I don't think there's an actual list of the brown belts but I think somebody is working on a "family tree"

The reason I ask is because a guy local to me is claiming to have just got a 10p brown belt but not only was he a white belt 2 weeks ago, he's also never competed or had a bjj instructor.

No, no list my friend. Time spent, loyalty to the system, ability as an instructor, comp record can and are all factors. A persons ability to memorize a list holds little or no weight IMHO.

Correction... I am NOT a brown belt. I did the test and eddie has it "pending" as he needs to confirm more information. If you know me and train with me you will know that all my students know that I did the test. There is a big diffirence between doing the test and actualy receiving a belt. ONLY Eddie will decide and formally communicate that. I have been training for 13 years and been doing 10th planet for 5 btw. So you are welcome to come and chat to me in person so that I can learn your real name and enjoy the system.

I've never heard of a formal test. But I imagine Eddie has made it harder to come into the higher ranks after being burned a couple times now. What kind of test was it exactly?

Has he really been burnt more than once? I can't imagine why someone would say that they're at a level that they're not. They're gonna get exposed eventually.
