    It's nothing new but you rarely see it used in MMA the exact way we do it, especially once you're in spider web.

    Eddie gave it the name swim move. But it has been around for years. I think eddie got it from JJM..

    Thats more of what I was wondering. Where it came into the system from... Probably been around since before there was gis(the skins age)..... Skin > clothes > gi > no-gi

    I am pretty sure I saw Rigan Machado teaching a similar technique in No Gi, and when I saw him doing it it came to my mind that it is like the Swim Move, but not exactly the same. Perhaps the initial concept came from Eddie's training with JJ Machado and like a lot of things, he continued experimenting until his had his own version of the way he thought it should be executed.
