there are some good schools out here. we have saulo ribeiros detroit jiu jitsu in melvindale & plymouth, along with a mma branch associated with the two. there is eastwest martial arts in canton under ryan forienzi as well as mizudo martial arts in dearborn under montise peterson. (both blackbelts under machados) but thats where it stops. there is some "mma" gyms but good no gi' stuff is really hard to come by. i know there would be a ton of support and demand. and if a school went up somewhere in metro detroit it be as huge as any of the OG gyms already out like the LA or vancover ones.
i was wondering (talking to eddie, ari, or dan), how can i get this going? ill get petitions, signatures, talk to city planning, various michigan bjj associations if need be.
hope to hear some positive feedback!
