Hi Gray - my armbar setup from the hundred is from top position - after the sweep. It's an inverted armbar. I'll show it next time I go to HQ and hopefully Scott will tape it and put it up for your viewing pleasure!

From the bottom I don't transition from hundred to armbar (unless I loose the hundred - which I honestly can't remember ever happening when I have it lol).

The only way for my opponent to get to his/her side is to slide his/her opposite arm across their chest - thereby giving me their back. Even that shouldn't happen unless I alleviate pressure or loosen my grip during the roll. The crank is far less effective if on their side since you don't have the mat helping you lock them in place. If on their side, they can scoot away, further loosening your grip.

Basically - if the grip is loose at the beginning (ie: you rush into the roll and don't adjust it) it'll be exponentially looser during and after the roll, giving them the opportunity to get on their side. Make sure it's cinched (and you control a leg) BEFORE going for the sweep.
    Thanks :-)

Thanks man, I was trying to set up the armbar similar to how you would with the kimura grip from half guard (kick the free leg over the head and stomp at the hip, then do the swim move) but I think the leverage might not be there with the 100%

Take the time to properly cinch the hold and you'll discover that posting is that last thing he/she will want to do. Next time I go to HQ I'll show some examples of this and hopefully Scott will tape it and throw it up here. But to reiterate: the pressure you apply should give your opponent no option but to go with YOUR flow.
Very cool. I'll try this tomorrow. Thanks for the response buddy.

Erwann is an old school legend! He gets mentioned every single time the 100% gets taught! Super cool he's back involved in some classes. Very cool also that he is on the forums. Erwann, are there any obscure positions you use the 100%?

Hi Scott - obscure positions, not really. But I would hit it from practically any position where a guillotine is feasible. Standing against the cage to counter a takedown is a great spot for MMA - or off a sprawl when someone shoots in on you. Next time I go to HQ I'll try to show a few of those variations!

All of my 10th Planet Melbourne students HQ and regional, should be paying close knowledge of al the details Erwann is sharing here. Ive trained with Erwann so many times over the last 7 years and he is squarely responsible for all my 100% transitions and associated steps especially from failed Guillotine and top half tactics (among stacks of other important shit too i might add).

Keep em coming Erwann and thankyou for helping out so much downtown with Scotty Ross. Excellent job my brothers. The guys downtown are so lucky. Erwann is one of the OG and knows his shit thats for sure.

    Erwann and Scotty,
I have to say, reading through this thread over the last few days has brought back so many HQ OG memories. The 100% was strong around 2006/07, and I still have all these exact vids on my old camera.

Its funny you know, I had written the 100% on my whiteboard about 2 weeks ago and now this happens. Amazing how shit happens hey? Man Im so grateful you boys put this up.

What I am trying to say is that is feels great reading all of this. I know exactly how valuable it was for me coming up, when Erwann taught these beauties to me back then. I love using the100%. It has gotten me out of some much heat.
I've hit the 100% Twister from a sprawl as well, its a cool set up.

Thanks again gentlemen, having a blast feeling the enthusiasm of the participants in this thread smash through my apple mac!
Great to see the 100% still getting the respect it so deserves. Its just one of those OG 10th Planet moves that will always be in your game! Well, if your smart you will!
