Look, here is the bottom line, if you have a problem with that setup for the seminars, then you are clearly upset that you probably won't make any money off of the seminar yourself. If that is the case, then you are in it for the wrong reasons and probably won't last long anyways. What we have here is a low risk way to get new, fresh stuff into your school. If the fact that you probably won't get paid on top of it bothers you, then reevaluate your self or kindly shut up.

The examples of anyone from the members of the Behring Family or Rener Gracie are again bjj royalty and thus command a totally different market and fee. Despite all of this, I think maybe my comments are making this thread spiral completely away from the purpose of it and that's definitely my fault. From the little exposure I've had to Coach Zog from his videos and people who have learnt from him I know he's an awesome instructor and this thread was actually about him promoting his deals which he in fact didn't even post on here out of respect for his fellow instructors (super classy, mad respect for that because I realize some of my questions were about hard figures and you were still responding to them so very much appreciated). I just questioned a comment Eddie made as someone who didn't know and is used to something different and then didn't want to leave the conversation when ideas and opinions were going back and forth because they were both interesting and engaging. I don't want to turn this into a constant debate where we all get more rooted in our current opinions. Thanks to everyone for their input, etc. Good to get perspective on things, learn some new things, and get some different ideas that deviate from my bias and perspective. Just once again wanted to state that nothing I posted reflects the thoughts or opinions of my instructor, team or teammates and all the questions I posted, comments I made, etc, are all mine. Thanks Coach Zog and everyone who responded to the whole bunch of questions I posted. I'm gonna stop posting on this so that people can get back to discussing Zog and his excellent seminars

Not at all, the host is not just paying for a few hours during a seminar, you are usually pay for 3 days of their time. When I leave town on the weekends it costs me money, I also have to find coverage for my classes.

If I were to travel to any of my instructors schools I'd pay at least that (I usually drop $1500-2000+) on my trips to LA to train. It would be double that to go to Russia. I very rarely make money when I host seminars I usually loose money. But its always less that what I woulda have paid to go train with my instructors.

Most of us have done free seminars, I have done several. This is my career and a seminar with me you are getting a professional seminar with expert material in a well fomated and developed presentation based on 29+ years experience. It worth double that amount. I have been to several seminars taught by blackbelts, there presentation and ability to articulate information was horrible. That doesn't happen at mine. They are also not just getting the knowledge of a "brown belt", they are also getting the knowdledge of an international Judo (5th degree Black Belt) and Sambo medalist.

I can verify Chris's teaching ability and style. I had Chris to my Moon in Indy, for a seminar (not this low risk option either BTW). His teaching style , attention to detail, and amount of control his LL system has, is insanely good! Not only was I blown away, but made a decent profit to boot! I no longer have the Indy Moon, but I wouldn't hesitate for second to have Chris out to my gym again! Especially with him looking out for small school owners now! Awesome idea!
