Thread: The GI is dead?

[QUOTdidn't miss anythibgid Rosado;215795]Did you completely miss how Marcelo used the gi maybe 20% of the time?[/QUOTE]

No I didnt anything, and what does it matter?

Marcelo uses and teaches Gi grips, Marcelo uses and teaches collar chokes, Marcelo uses and teaches sweeps with the sleeves and belt grips

You are grasping at straws and have moved the goal posts on the initial point which I have made and proven multiple times between Marcelo actually rolling and referencing mginaction which I was on for over a year

    Yep

This whole gi makes your no gi better or no gi makes your gi better is somewhat irrelevant

Training in the gi makes you better at jiu jitsu, training no gi makes you better at jiu jitsu, they both help you get better, they both have there advantages and disadvantages

This is the second time you've brought up my belt colour. Is someone a bit bitter that they were passed over? If you'd like, I can make you an honorary gold belt in my Flame-Kung-Do Forum Fighting System. Just send me a one time $2500 affiliate fee.

My Flame-Kung-Do Forum Fighting System doesn't have any disadvantages.

I'm not grasping at straws. He's on record saying that he uses mostly no gi grips since he trains half/half gi/no gi. He's on record saying that MOST of the time, he's using no gi grips because it translates to both better. That's the point I'm making. That's the point the videos of him rolling makes. Does he use the gi? Of course. Is it critical to his game? No. These are the facts. And that's his philosophy. And that's why there's merit in quoting MG regarding the virtues of no gi. I don't get why that's hard to get.

LMAO not even. I just know that when I rank up, it's not based on stripes and attendance.

Nah, I'm saying that since leaving 10th Roc, I have encountered a number of stereotypical gi guys. And those guys are douches. Hence the term, typical gi douche. I've met a handful of nice guys too.

Did I ever say Marcelo is dependent on the Gi? No, that was never the point and that's why you are moving the goal posts

Me - Marcelo uses gi grips and gi chokes

    You - When

Me - Shows recent video of Marcelo using Gi grips and gi chokes against a world champ

    You - I'm not convinced

    Me - *confused*
