Knee knot: super flexible ankles and rolling

Been having a lot of success with the wedge and knee knot, but there's one dude I roll with who has ultra flexible feet (scary flexible), sp it's pretty difficult (for me) to get the standard heel hook from the knee knot. If you have any suggestions that'd be great but I'm gonna try switching to the honey hole for this guy. But he was also somehow able to roll multiple times when I had the knee knot fully locked up, so I had to have been doing something wrong, because people usually aren't able to do that or aren't supposed to be able to do that. So if you guys are feeling generous, feel free to explain your processes in this regard for a fellow leg lock enthusiast

Is his knotted leg slipping free, or the heel hook leg?
