    Certified Personal Trainer?

I've been web searching "certified personal trainer" and have come across many different organizations offering certification. I was wondering if any of you know what organizations are the best, what exactly do you learn, & any other general information about being a CPT that you would like to share.

    Thanks

NASM and NSCA/CSCS I think are the biggest. IFA you can get through a certified Instructor for much cheaper. Some of the best trainers dont need any of the certs. Those certs are just needed for Insurance purposes and to look good on paper. I have met a bunch of shitty trainers with the highest creds. I think there is a MMA conditoning program that partnered with one of the big organizations but most trainers dont get to work with only athletes, the soccer MOMs pay the bills. I would get in with NASM if you can.

I'm a CSCS through the NSCA, a little more involved than a CPT... But I would recommend the NSCA over other organizations for certification, primarily because they are always conducting and publishing good, peer-reviewed research. There are others out there, like the NASM and the ISSA, but for me, the NSCA seems to have the most scientific approach, and that really speaks to me.

    My opinion.

You can start out with the IFA and get hired at most major gym and slowly do the other certs. The best experiences will be through training people not those classes. The info is good and once again looks good on the resume. A lot of gyms have there own ed programs that you have to go through no matter what certs. you have. If you want some really good info email my business partner Angel. I will send you a PM with his email he has like five different certs. and the other half of our gym is personal training, group fitness, etc.
