    NoGi websites

I was wondering where most people go (besides here) to watch nogi technique videos. I'll share a few I have found, and maybe we could start a list.

    http://www.grapplingweekly.com/

    http://www.dstryrsg.com/

    http://www.lockflow.com/

    http://www.budovideos.com/online/shows/

(and sometimes BJJ Weekly has some nogi)
    http://www.bjjweekly.com/jiu-jitsu-technique/

    What else you guys got!

Not to derail this thread or anything, but does starting off in the gi help improve your nogi game. like i haven't even rolled before, i went to go out last night and the instructors at the gym said no one will prob go out to the nogi and to come back 2morrow for bjj basic. but i really just want to do nogi but seems no one around where i live feels the same

There's opinions on both, there's plenty you can find by searching this forum as well. I would say training both is better than not training at all.

There's a debate about the gi vs no-gi issue in the grappling world. Here are links to a few good articles on it.

You know, I agree, I think I'll start training with the gi and just keep my personally opinions to myself. I am hoping that eventually I will find a place that will do more nogi, since I went to go out for some last night at the gym I am currently pursuing and they told me no one will be going out for the nogi. Hey I cannot remember the guys name right off the top of my head, but the Peterborough guy, you should move your gym to Barrie.

no gi vs. gi? seriously roll with one them guys against the gi and choke them out with their t-shirt/rash guard. then they will see the gi is better. watch them whine about how thats not fair. well doesn't everyone wear shirts if not coats in winter? "Oh but thats not what we wear in the cage." so you go buy rules your scared to fight a real fight, is that it?

My personal opinion is that the gi does not in and of itself help your grappling ability. Grappling helps your grappling ability. Gi grappling will offer more techniques, but niot necessarily more practical techniques. Gi techniques will work some of the time, no-gi techniques will work more often as they are not reliant on a jacket, coat, shirt, etc, no gi techniques are reliant upon the person, not the attire.

That said, if you want to train gi grappling, then train gi grappling. If you want to train no-gi grappling, then train no-gi. One does not make you better then the other.
