Special Forces raid a house (helmet cam)

god damn you know what you're talking about. one of the reasons I believed the title of it being special forces was ya, what you said, that he didn't kill in the heat of the moment. Also I compared it to how these guys behave (army), and it seems like he handles the situation with lot more skill.

I'm in no way an expert on the subject though.

I deployed twice to Afghanistan, once in summer 09 and just got back again June. Both times I did engineer security, which was static and convoy security through hostile environments to support the infantry and try to bring them everything they needed from bullets to food their mail and even creature comforts. I never kicked any doors in but our convoys over the 2 deployments took approx 80 IEDs and we laid waste to the asshats that would try to shoot us or mortar us.

I've seen the video before years ago. They were definitely really spooked by the jeebs screaming "God Is Great" in that house. You also notice that the black dude has an ND (negligent discharge) of his weapon as he leaves the house at about 4:52.

I almost want to say those guys are Marines for a few reasons. 1 i dont think the Army had any part in assaulting Fallujah (if that really is Fallujah) as far as boots on the ground and 2 the army always has the best shit. these guys are wearing the navy style coveralls, with the lousy tri colored interceptor flak jackets and sporting the A4s some with acogs some with iron sights. If it was a standard army grunt unit they would have had M4s with friggen aimpoints on their shits.

in the fallujah shootout video those soldiers were not special forces nor Army they were Marines you can tell by the camo we wear a grey color uniform in the army. Yes that was sloppy but no soldiers appeared to have been killed and being shot at tends to change your plans i dont give a damn who you are your first contact tends to scare you.

I dont think we give soldiers nearly enough respect in this country. Police and soldiers keep the Earth in balance whether we like it or not.

alot of the time it is not in balance tho like when cops kick in the door of someone who is selling weed and threatens to shoot there kids no way is the harm of selling weed is equal to shooting a kid or a person spending time in jail.

jesus. you are a goldmine of information. big benefit of having a former soldier whos seen combat on this forum. Hope the governments provided some compensation for all that shit. 80 AED's? Jesus. I remember when I got back from colombia I took back a lot of the fear of getting robbed and shot back with me. I can only imagine what it's like coming back from a warzone.

Being exposed to extreme and constant stress changes the way your mind works. For a long time, I had to keep a weapon on or near me at my house. I also was not a big fan of going out in town or being in big crowds of people. Sudden loud noises also made the booty hole pucker.

As far as compensation goes, we don't really get anything but hazard duty pay which is not that much extra. Single guys can make out like bandits because they have no bills to pay and just collect checks. Us married types, still have mortgages and car bills plus groceries etc etc for the wife and kids.

80 ieds is a rough estimate. I remember hearing we took approx 60 first trip and i sort of guessed about 30 on this one. It was hot in the beginning, quiet for a few months, then a change in routes put us right back in their back yard.

Also FYI, I know I didn't specify that I was a Marine but, never call a Marine a soldier. That term is reserved for the Army and not to knock on the soldiers on the forum, but we are trained to take being called a soldier as an insult.

holy shit. It really never made sense to me how MLB or NFL players get payed more than firefighters, marines, police. I guess that's just how society operates. ok thanks for the words of wisdom I'll remember that.
