How many times has he had to break a super strong, super flexible, and super slick opponents arm? Vinny was gonna wait for it to pop, then try an escape. Pretty sure he felt a LOT of pressure, and he never even thought about tappin. While you tap people all the time in jj, not many times are you actually forced to break the arm. Then someone comes along and says 'do it'. All I'm sayin is, this would NEVER happen to Aoki. Amazing match

I think if Werdum wanted a finish he should have switched to a wrist lock.

Are there any wrist lock masters at the adcc level? That would actually be pretty sweet

again, I don't know shit compared to these guys but I was in the same situation couple weeks ago. The guy would not tap. It was weird for me b/c most people just say I'm not getting out, tap and lets start over. I stayed there for a minute then scooted my butt closer to his body and he tapped.

This is true. Most people practice and strive to NOT break peoples arm. They learn to do it just so it's painful enough to get a tap, without actually doing anything. Few, like Aoki, practice to break arms. Whatever you do in the gym becomes a habit and when you're tired, you revert back to your habits.

Claudio Calasans has hit wrist locks on top level opponents in the past. Check out his wrist lock against Lucas Leite to win the gold at the 2011 Pan Ams.
