Not anymore bro. They're hired muscle now. They're paid to protect the interests of those with more money.

From what I heard from a guy who's at the NY occupy, you can't hear the cops. Like you hear what sounds like the megaphone, but you don't really hear what they're saying. And cops dressed in riot gear is not a warning. It's a threat. But these people are standing up for our rights. This has to happen.

LOL. Great post.

And honestly blaming the protesters for pushing the cops to do this is blaming the victim in such an obvious way. "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety" -Benjamin Franklin. Right now these people are trying to hold on to what liberty they have left. The protesters are willing to be beaten by cops and pepper sprayed, and gassed because it is not about individual safety but about a skewed economic and political atmosphere that is harming people throughout this country (and the world) regardless of whether we are democrats or republicans or hippies or vets or some combination of all of the above.
Great post again.

They are. We have the right to protest. Why are we being shot with rubber bullets, flashbanged, maced, and beaten? Cops should just be making sure no one's getting hurt and no crimes are being committed. They shouldn't be using intimidation and violence. They should be looking at us as fellow citizens, not enemies.
