10th Planet Las Vegas is the newest addition to the trinity of gyms located in Orange County, 10th Planet Costa Mesa,10th Planet Buena Park and 10th Planet Orange. All four gyms operate as one. If four gyms for the price of one, is not enough, there are also three full time Eddie Bravo Black Belts (Ron Turner, Casey Halstead and Andrew Ramm). On any given day you may run into UFC fighters such as Mark Munoz, Cain Carrizosa, Diego Rivas, Carla Esparza, Ashlee Evans-Smith and Anthony Birchak.
Casey Halstead:
Casey Halstead is a professional Mixed Martial Arts trainer with over eight years of coaching experience. Originally a mixed martial artist with a boxing foundation, Casey took his Eddie Bravo Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, striking, and wrestling, skills onto the teaching platform. He is the owner and head coach of 10th Planet Las Vegas, 10th Planet Costa Mesa, 10th Planet Buena Park, and 10th Planet Orange, while still training under 7th Degree Red and Black Belt Jean Jacques Machado and 10th Planet’s founder Eddie Bravo. In addition to the series of the four 10th Planets, he was the head Jiu Jitsu instructor at Mark Munoz’s Reign Training Center.
Casey actively works with some of the most experienced and well respected MMA fighters in the world. He is seen coaching and working alongside Ultimate Fighter season 13 Winner Tony Ferguson, UFC veteran Mark Munoz, Cain Carrizosa, Diego Rivas, Ashlee Evans-Smith, Carla Esparza and Anthony Birchak.
Casey was also a guest instructor on The Ultimate Fighter Latin America for team Werdum, the interim UFC heavyweight champion of the world, and again for team Gastelum, the number 10 ranked welterweight UFC fighter.
Along with his close affiliation with the UFC, Bellator, and several other organizations, Casey is the co-founder of the popular Jiu Jitsu clothing brand “Newaza Apparel,” a unique, creative line of colorful attire that is seen all around the world.
Casey is also the Event Coordinator and Match Maker for Eddie Bravo Invitational, in this role Casey gets to work closely with Eddie Bravo and Victor Davila as well as some of the greatest talent in Jiu Jitsu.
Casey Halstead takes pride in developing home grown MMA talents from day one, as he works closely with everyone, from students with no Martial Arts experience, to athletes at the peak of their careers. On top of being a master of his craft, Casey’s style of pushing the limits has built a strong reputation, which has been proven repeatedly, bringing fighters from all around the globe to train under him for their fight camps. He lives a life devoted to inspiring and aspiring athletes to live a healthy mental and physical lifestyle and pursue higher personal and professional goals in their lives.
Andrew Ramm:
Andrew is an active competitor and is always looking to take fights even on short notice as evident in his Bellator debut when he took the fight on just over 48 hour notice and had to cut 15 pounds. Andrew has a Black Belt under Master Eddie Bravo and has no problem rising to the challenge.
Andrew takes a unique and analytical approach to jiu jitsu that comes out in his teaching and fighting.
Ron Turner:
Ron has been training Jiu Jitsu since 1994. He has professional MMA fights local and abroad. With 20years of experience Ron has achieved many milestones. He received his Black Belt under Master Eddie Bravo, and also holds a traditional BJJ Black Belt under his former instructor.
In 2009 Ron started Subtec MMA. Subtec MMA quickly started to make noise on the local grappling and amateur MMA scene.
2012 was the year that changed the game in Orange County when Subtec MMA became 10th Planet Costa Mesa.
With his passion for art, Ron also is a professional tattoo artist. He uses that creativity to enhance his Jiu Jitsu, his teaching style continues to evolve and push the limitations that traditionalist try to place on Jiu Jitsu.
Andy Balmore Prudencio:
Andy has an impressive professional record of 6-1. He has fought and won against some of the best competition in California.
10 years ago as a young teen Andy made his way into a local academy and started his martial arts training. He has studied Boxing under the tutelage of Bruce Warren (DWB), Muay Thai under Kristna Kim (Bravado Muay Thai). Andy specializes in Jiu Jitsu with a heavy wrestling base. Andy is currently ranked as a Brown Belt in 10th Planet under Ron Turner and Casey Halstead.
With his passion for teaching he takes a hands on approach with his students, he leads the charge in practice. With his pace and tone Andy sets an atmosphere that breads success.
Andy is a hippy at heart and lives a clean lifestyle that includes an all organic diet and a strict lifestyle that he offers to all students and anyone that is willing to learn.
