Help With Vice Grip and Japanese Necktie Basics

I'm a beginner and would like to learn the japanese necktie. But first I need to get comfortable trying to get the vice grip.

Does anybody have any videos or tips on the basics of getting the vice grip?

When you do the vice grip, there are a few things you gotta remember:

    - There are a couple of ways to do it. Either do a normal gable grip with your hands (a no thumb grip), or do it as if you are praying. As in do a Gable Grip, then interlock your thumbs. I find the latter tighter and better for this kinda stuff

    - I like to turn my thumbs towards the sky, it helps keep his head down, that's the most important thing. Control his head, the rest will follow

    - Remember to always keep squeezing with the vice grip, through the whole of the move. This will mean your opponent is choking throughout the move and it will come on fast at the end!

    - Watch Mastering the System 13, there's an 8 minute section on it and its a fantastic walkthrough of the move.

You could also use the Lebell grip but that's old school.

Ha.. tell me, what are the advantages? It seems like it has more back and forth traction but is there a risk if breaking your fingers if things get goofy?
