Heard a pop while being Americana'd... What should I do?

What up peeps,
I was rolling with a guy at my gym and he cranked on an Americana but he didnt hear me saying tap. I don't really mind because I know these things happen but I did hear a pop near my elbow and immediate pain. Pain went away mostly right after but now my inner elbow area is sore and hurts when i extend my arm straight out.
What kind of injury is this?
What is the best recovery method?
Should I sit out from rolling entirely?

Probably a strained muscle. Overextended past the anatomical range of motion it seems, pop was the cavitation of the joint. Not a fracture fortunately.

Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation

No. Evolve, learn to counter, take it on the chin, continue the journey. Tap if it feels compromised and live to fight another day.

I've had that happen to me a bunch of time without any serious coming from it...


The worst thing that happened was that arm was weaker than normal for a month or so... just rest it and you'll be good as new

Happened to me when I first started training. I tied my arm to my side using my belt lol

Edit: In addition glucosamine in daily basis is very effective too.

i got several pops out of mine by a guy that was considerably larger than me. my free arm (the one not being attacked by submission) was trapped underneath him so i couldn't physically tap. he wrenched on it when he got frustrated that i wasn't tapping even though i'd verbally said it. this happened a little over a year ago and i still have some issues with the elbow. i jumped right back out and kept training. it hurts when it gets moved in the right direction and it gets sore when i box and hold mits. if i could go back i'd take the time to rehab it just so it wouldn't be an issue now.

Very close to when I started training when I had no where really good where anyone was ranked to train (just training with white belt coaches that said they were good) I had something similar happen to me... more than once... Had my humorous bone snapped one time....

A guy like that wrenching on something after you let him know you gave up because you didn't give up in the way that made his ego feel the best, doesn't belong in the gym and any gym where that attitude is observed by coaches and that guy is not removed is a toxic gym I don't recommend staying at.

This is coming from someone that stayed at a couple of toxic gyms and only left when they shut down or the coach quit... and didn't realize how bad they were until I was elsewhere. What your describing isn't ok and we should stand up against this garbage when we see it.

Not saying I have enough info to say your case is a gym problem or the like, only that I like allot of people would want to be the guy to just pop back up and continue training and let it go but thats an issue that instead should be addressed before that guy breaks some small guys humorous bone or something. That attitude can be contagious too by the way..

It's probably your UCL. It's the inside of the elbow, right?

Be careful and rest it. Don't throw a ball for a long, long time.
