If Rener Gracie called it a reverse calf slicer then that is what it is. Don't doubt Rener Gracie.

    It's not a Ham Sandwich.

Far be it for me to question Herzog, but every result I can find on the internet for Ham Sandwich shows this submission. Some of them are finishing from diferent angles, but the core concept appears to be exactly the same. Even a video from 10P Rochester itself shows Alder Hampel instructing the Ham Sandwich, and the only difference seems to be that it isn't set up from your opponent spiraling out of Ashi. Where am I missing the boat?

The ham sandwich ends with opponents facing each other. The line created by the knee and ankle is closer to perpendicular to the body than parallel. The finish can be applied whist standing in your opponents guard.

The lock that Olivera did, ends up with a front to back situation. The knee and ankle form a line almost parallel to the spine. The finish can be applied whilst attempting a RNC.

As Brian said, Ham sandwich is chest to chest. Chest to back in Jermmiah's video is not a ham sandwich.
