Sure, absolutely, it was a
very smart tactics (instinct), and I give Franky HUGE props for the heart he showed in that fight. By playing defense, he was able to give himself time recover enough to give Gray the fight of his life in the next four rounds. But, at the end of the day, it is a (sport) fight and, in my opinion, you don't score points by playing good defense. Like Dana White said, "10-7's are a unicorn," so, realistically, 10-8 was the proper score. Honestly, if I was one of the three judges, I probably would have been too chicken to score it a '10-7' round because of the "unicorn factor," so I would have scored it a 10-8. Anyway, it is what it is. I thought the fight was awesome, way better than I had expected.
Does anybody know of an MMA fight where a round was scored 10-7? I'd like to see what an official '10-7' round looks like. I can't think of one off the dome.
