Zuffa LLC. refuse to renew the contract of Fedor Emelianenko

The men at the sharp end of Zuffa LLC. have this week refused to renew the contract of formerly ranked number one fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko meaning the Russian heavyweight will be either forced to retire from the sport or compete in the minor leagues.

The news comes via LifeSports.ru who reportedly spoke to sources close to “The Last Emperor” earlier this week. According to the report negotiations stalled after the owners of the UFC came to the table and interjected themselves into the proceedings.

Fedor is on a two fight losing streak after being stopped inside the distance by both Fabricio Werdum (submission) and Antonio “Big Foot” Silva (TKO – doctors stoppage), a position he has never been in before during his career. Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this situation as we get it.

My thoughts exactly. But you got there first. My interpretation is this: Fedor's team tries the usual BS, expecting things that nobody has ever gotten before. Most likely, the main issue is that they want to extend the deal to co-promote events that have Fedor. Dana, the Fertittas, Zuffa ... whoever the hell was there are not going to waste even more time beating around the bush about this - it's not going to happen. I'm sure they went to make that clear, the Russians threw a fit, and then went to the media with their complaints.

This is becoming standard operating procedure for Fedor's team, whining about ridiculous altered events to the media. Lest we forget Antonio Silva's hired psychics in the stands the day of Fedor's demolition.
