I competed in the MSC recently under the same conditions. I lost both matches by americana from bottom half. I learned a lot though. 1.) I'm done competing at such a high weight class(I was 40 lbs over weight and didn't cut weight). 2.) I need more options and better defense in halfguard(I play almost exclusively lockdown from the bottom). It really upped my motivation. I lost some weight and cut 17 lbs for my next tournament. I finally won my first match at naga last month.MSC is my favorite event by far. It was a blizzard so a lot of people didn't show. I got to help Derek out and do a little volunteer reffing, which is pretty easy at sub only but I was glad I got to help. Overall I'm glad I did it, unprepared and all.

Hey B.J., we never saw you at the gym. Did you make out here to Utah?

Your open mat was right when my flight left. Other than that I was busy all week

Good luck! Competing with no training can be fun (like after an injury or traveling and taking time off). No pressure at all.
