New MTS is up-just my opinion

The new mastering the system is up. I'm about half way through and I just want to say what a fantastic resource this is. The whole selfless culture within 10th Planet really does start with the man at the very top. I have heard on a number of occasions people say that Eddie should charge more for the membership subscription and Eddies reply has always been that he wants to keep it affordable for his students. Honestly, if you have not signed up to this yet then your missing out .

The willingness of Eddie and the 10th Planet students to share their knowledge really does blow me away. At our school students constantly discuss, swap opinions and demonstrate little details about transitions and techniques that have been working for them, instead of keeping it secret and hoping to gain an advantage. Even at open mats it's traditional to destroy someone with a move and then explain to them exactly how you did it. The whole movement just seems so giving and I think it's because that's the person 10th planet encourages you to be.

The majority of the new MTS consists of Eddie studying tape of him rolling at 10th planet Birmingham. I love the 'studying the tape' episodes. It is one thing to show instructional videos but to hear the thoughts of a jiu Jitsu legend as he rolls is priceless. The insight Eddie provides about the little details he is concentrating on, his strategy and decision making while rolling is another level of studying and learning altogether. This whole philosophy is why 10th planet will continue to evolve. I've banged on for too long already but just wanted to share my appreciation with whoever has a moment to read this. I truly believe this is just the beginning of a legacy that will last longer than my lifetime and I'm proud to be here and witness an era that people will talk about with pride in the future. Couldn't agree more. Eddie's done something really special for the art of Jiu Jitsu. That's why I'm of the opinion he's the second most important and innovative guy in the history of Jiu Jitsu, after Helio. Not just for the techniques he's developed (discovered?) but also for the attitude he brings to the art and to how it is taught.

Actually now that I think about it, I might have to move him to 3rd place. Helio, then Royce, then Eddie. Royce might be a colossal douche, but what he did in UFC1-4 was absolutely critical for the art to spread to the states, and from there the world.

Eddie would be working on his overhand knife strike still if Royce hadn't gotten into that cage with those fucking monsters and choked them all out.

What sold me was the culture for sure. The culture that exists welcomes people from all masters, affiliations, backgrounds, in the pursuit of evolution. It starts from the top. A good instructor, like the ones I've witnessed throughout the system, has a style and influences their students, while also allowing room and encouragement for originality and "playing your game." I love this idea of having peoples 'fingerprints' within my game. Maybe my rubber guard will never be like Eddies, but throughout my life, throughout my travels, throughout my journey, I'll be proud of the fingerprints of the 10p system, and will feel an instant connection with anyone with who's game I see the fingerprints as well. The greatest bonds go unspoken, imo.
