Hmmm, 4.3 years just to get to the nearest star at the speed of light. If we don't find wormholes or something similar the distances are just to big to travel to other solar systems in our galaxy in useful time.

Do you think that from the big bang, the universe expanded outwards in all directions at the speed of light? Or did it take it very quickly take on cosmic proportions as space was created inside the universe like a balloon being filled with air?

My mind is still reeling from the idea that dark energy, which is causing heavenly objects to accelerate from each other, could be considered to be anti-gravity.
