Had another solid night at the Hot Box (Hopefully Moon soon lol)
The beginners class focused on basic guard passing. Emphasized how important posturing and hip/bicep control truly are, as well as making an effort to keep effective movement instead of being all over the place.
Crotch Sliding, Clearing the leg, and the Blast pass were drilled HARD tonight.
Once we finished up with that session, we moved on to escaping the mount with the Advanced guys. (Although a lot of the beginners were in in attendance for extra mat time) - Definitely put in our numbers tonight, focusing on Escaping from Alcatraz, bumping up to butterfly guard (Following with the Jean Jacque sweep), and finishing our last technique adding THE REAPER to our series.
Reaper>Wedge>Knee Knot>Foot Compression or Straight Ankle Lock
The reaper was a big hit and it seems a lot of guys are highly interested in diff. leg lock series. - Which works out great, seeing as Coach Herzog will be demonstrating a Leg Lock/Top Control seminar June 8th!
Things are coming together beautifully, everyone is working hard and DEVELOPING - And our gym is becoming that much better each and every day! Added a glass counter top for the opportunity to sell gear as well as supplements and anything BJJ and MMA related! I'll post pictures as soon as we get everything finalized.
