What is the best way to get gym waivers for new people to sign?

Do you need a lawyer to write it up or get it notarized or anything?

I don't think it needs to be drawn up by a lawyer, but it should say everything you need it to say.

But legally, I think you just need to make sure your bases are covered.. It's just a written agreement.

There is one at Karateinsurance.com that you can copy, paste, and print out. Tell people that come in that they have to fill out a waiver before they can train. If they refuse then that may be a sign but I have never had anyone argue about signing a waiver. Nothing is full proof with the right lawyer but at least you are covering your bases.

Just hire this guy for your waiver signings, or anything that needs ink on the dotted line. He's got a 100% closing rate.

Thanks for the thread! I've got a few guys willing to roll and do the Gracie stuff as well as the 10PP. Hopefully we'll be able to find a bigger place than my living room soon.

Just grab napkins and write on them "I acknowledge I may die, the undersigned." Signature....
