Jeez...step out for a few hours to train and miss 22 pages of posts?? Holy shit this went bad quick. I never understood why anyone would lie about a belt or belt rank and I'm not saying Bill did or did not because I do not know the man but I do trust people I do know like Herzog and Brandon.

With that said, if your in it for Jiu Jitsu...truly in it for the sport and everything that goes along with it, the trials and tribulations, the whole experience...you would have no reason to lie about belt rank. The ones who lie about belt rank are in it for ego, for profit and for vanity. My gym has a very strict policy about promoting students who don't train gi...they don't do it...period. An thus I will never get promoted beyond purple (the last belt I trained gi in) and I'm fine with that because I am in it for my own personal journey and to help my daughter and girlfriend along in their journey. If someone made me a brown or a black belt tomorrow I would be no better than what I am today right?

My only advice is be honest with yourself, do this the right way so when you look back you are truly proud of what you accomplished and just enjoy the ride fellas
