Toe hold from the truck?

I was showing someone the truck the other day. They asked if there was a footlock for the non grape vined leg. I said no. Coincidentally, I stumbled onto this. He shows a toe hold from the truck at 2:22. Is this common knowlege? Has it been tested? It's new to me but it looks like it has potential to work.

Looks liek that toe hold would hurt!

There used to a type of ankle lock from there (its in the book), but i never really dabbled too much in it.

At work, so I can't see the video, but from what I've been able to play around with Kuwy Control from the truck, you are able to hit a straight ankle-like sub on the near leg with either a regular or power straight ankle grip. The couple of reps I've drilled on it guys have said they tapped from the strain on the quad from the stretch moreso than the straight ankle pressure, though.
