MG In Action & Mastering The System have made my game 10x better.

Go to class and every time you struggle with something look up how you could have fixed what went wrong.

Someone lies on top of you in side control: search 'side control escapes'

You get in guard and don't know what to do then look up submissions from guard (Eddie's specialty)

Mastering the system really is THE best value in bjj. I do more gi than no gi and I still find it worth it and then some.
Beyond that you have options and kind of want to decide if you want online content (mginaction, the menendez bro ect) or a hard copy dvd set (I like Xande, but that's a personal preference. A lot of people swear by Roy Dean. There are tons to teach the basics)

I focused on escapes to half guard (from all positions) when I started then worked on half guard techniques from there. Then when I eventually managed to start sweeping people, I looked more into top positions. See where you end up in training and what problems you wanna solve, just like Apperz said. Good advice.
