    Getting underhooked in 1/4 clinch

So let's say you're playing from the bottom. You latch onto a guy's leg, planning to take it to 1/4 and then lockdown. He knee slices, and oh no, he's really good at it. Too fast. He gets his undertook in. Now you're in 1/4 but your good options are gone. He's a few seconds from passing.

    What are your remaining options?

Was looking through the MTS stuff and getting the shell down is obviously vital, but is there anything on last-ditch work if you screw it up?

If he beats you to the underhook and you cannot get it back you can use the Quarter Ghost Series (a branch off of the Ghost side control escape):

This video is the side control escape series, but it'll show you other options off of the Ghost:

Agreed, however a good knee slice master won't allow you to keep that pimp arm on the hip, the Ghost will help in when that battle occurs.

Quick replies. Thank you! Love the ghost from side control... uh... this probably should have been obvious. Looks like money.

All though the Ghost is my "go to" escape form side control, I still engage and battle back for the underhook in 1/4 guard, don't just give it up to Ghost. If I can secure the pimp arm I'll work mini stomp, If the pimp arm is a no go i'll then go to the Quarter Ghost as a follow up. The more pressure the easier the Ghost.

For sure. Definitely looking to run through to lockdown/double unders and all that, just thinking about what to do if Marcelo Garcia decides to slice through my guard one day (probably just tap and go get a beer.)
