I wasn't trying to get away with anything. It was just always my natural instinctual reaction to someone giving me the option to spin around and pass their guard and it worked all but one time. But I will probably do it again against anyone who omoplatas me until they learn to defend against it. It's good for them and when it doesn't work it builds my confidence in the omoplata, which is a move I want to believe in. Only good came of it. He learned to focus harder on keeping my arm trapped and maybe later he looked more into it and figured out some other things he could do with my arm trapped other than just stalemate. And I learned all that too. If that guy in the IFL fight had a training partner who had tried it before he might have tapped his opponent out instead of ending the round stalemated and on the bottom.
