    USADA Agents Visit ATT, Ban Use Of IVs

    WOW!!!!! United States Anti-Doping Agency stopped by American Top Team today and notified them that the use of an IV to rehydrate after weigh-ins has now been banned!!

    He's not wrong. Isn't it just injecting fluids to help rehydrate? In that case it's just a form of drinking but avoiding the digestive system. They banned drinking...

    It is used to rehydrate quickly from severe weight cuts.

    Weight cuts need to chill the fuck out, a bantamweight should not get in the cage weighing above lightweight, so far every fighter I have put this to agrees, if weighins and weight cuts were more controlled then there would be no need to IV and we would see the better man win more often, as opposed to the many many times the bigger man has eeked out a decision.

    Whilst I agree with joe in that cutting that amount of water requires an IV to do so safely I don't think the IV is really a means to an end. We should be looking at how all fighters can safely make the correct weight for safe, fair fights; not just promote bigger and bigger guys at each weight.
