Rigan Machado Eats Some Sambo Guys for Breakfast (video)

Damn, Rigan just runs through these guys like its another day at the office. Its funny how this video, from 1994 is so much more exciting than the average BJJ competition video of today. There's no stalling at all here. Rigan is a submission machine. He even pulls off a Swim Move around the 5:00 mark:



And for no reason at all, here's a shot I took of Rigan at a seminar a couple of months back at Guerrero BJJ a couple of months ago. Marcos Santos, formerly of NYBJJ, is in the background.

Yea the pace of Sambo competitions are super fast and intense and a lot of fun. Unfortunately the state of referring hasn't changed much since then either, with a few exceptions.
