Kevin Green Rolling with Marcelo Garcia (VIDEO)

I read about this thread over on mginaction where someone said there was a guy named Kevin Green who was claiming he rolled with Marcelo and had never been tapped and couldn't be tapped by him. Upon checking it out, I am happy to see Kevin is claiming no such thing, but am shocked to see all the comments praising him for not getting tapped including a comment by Eddie Bravo. As a member of mginaction who has watched every single one of Marcelos rolling vids and more than once to and has based my game off of his I have to tell you Marcelo is going extremely slow and easy in that roll. I live 5 hrs from his school and have been training there quite regularly for over a year and have been fortunate enough to roll with Marcelo many times. I sometimes get tapped 5, 6 or even more times in a round and sometimes not at all and let me tell you its not because of anything I am doing that changes the outcome. The guy is the best grappler in the world and how anyone could think upon watching that video that Marcelo was even trying is beyond my understanding. Anyone that is half way decent has gone with guys they could tap easily, but because they are working different parts of their game or are allowing the other guy to work a little bit they choose not to go hard. I can only hope for the OP's sake he is lucky enough to go with Marcelo when he is going harder to experience getting tapped many times with ease. Trust me when I say I am not trying to be disrespectful to OP. I am only a purple belt myself and don't think I am anything special. I was just amazed to see some of the ignorant comments here that in my opinion are disrespectful to one of the best and nicest grapplers ever.

No body disrespected Mareclo on this thread and I have never seen anybody disrespect him on this forum for that matter. You are blowing the stupidest shit out of proportion this is just people showing support for Kevin and throwing around comments like "best grappler ever" about Marcello if you did not just come on this forum to start shit and actually spent some time on here you would see Marcello has a huge fan base on here including Eddie. Im sniffing out a troll job here.

^ I am guessing he is just referring to folks being a bit gushy about Kevin not being Tapped. I am sure Kevin and most everyone here knows Marcelo was probably not trying that hard, I mean the guy has literally raped the best in the world grappling when he wants to, but he has also shown lots of times he can just sort of move around and let guys work. Seeing as he isnt here often, and sees this, its not unfair to assume he was thinking folks are taking what happened as some sort of all out grappling match in the gym. Folks here know that wasnt the case, Mr Green I am sure knows that wasnt the case, Marcelo knows that wasnt the case, so its only that fellow who was a bit confused I think, but with a search he will see a bit clearer I am sure.

Im not referring to this whole forum or even the majority of the posts on this thread. Just responding to a couple that seemed ignorant if they are to be taken at face value. Comments specifically like:

These are what I was responding to. Kevin didn't make any such claims as I stated in my first post. Again I mean no disrespect to him or anyone else. Maybe I am just blowing even these comments out of proportion, but just throwing my 2 cents out there. More mature and experienced grapplers know that there are levels of grappling and the best dont even tap into those levels with mere mortals such as myself.

I saw that video a few years ago so no need to re-watch. I know Eddie respects Marcelo and I have respect for Eddie. In fact his book Mastering the Rubber Guard was the first bjj book I ever owned and it really changed the way I learned and evolved my game. I still to this day recommend it to guys who are looking to buy books related to bjj. But I stand by what I said. What Eddie said seems ignorant to me if it was meant as I read it. Anyway just my 2 cents. Im not looking to get into a back and forth, that is why I never really post on these forums. I am a huge fan and friend of Marcelos and just wanted to say what I was thinking. If you disagree no problem, we are all entitled to our own opinions.
