I worked my ass off at HQ and got everything I ever expected out of it, including a surgery to repair the damage to my thumb. I apoligize if my first post was misleading but i also want to thank everyone who understood what I was going through and took it was me reaching out for help. I am not only in Jits for a belt, jitz has been my life for a long time and will continue to be. I dont "Expect" to get a belt from anyone or any other organization than the 10th Planet family unlike alot of u on the forums who settled for other schools.
Once again I am sorry if my first post was misleading.
LOL the ol' switcheroo. I'm not sure if you were looking for positive reinforcement or pity. From the posts I read, you DID get positive reinforcement. Focus on family=positive. Don't worry about belts=positive. You're blessed to have been able to trian at HQ=positive. Yeah it was tough love, but all the advice was positive.
As far as getting everything you've expected, I'm not sure if I buy it. Either you've changed your mind, or you're trying to save face. You said "8 years....8 years and nothing to show for it." That implies that you expected something and didn't get it. Here's some positive reinforcement: You DO have something to show for it. Knowledge. Experience.
On top of all that, it's kind of rude for you to make a negative judgement on guys who "settled for other schools." I'm sure everyone here will agree: some mat time is better than no mat time. They didn't settle. They made a positive decision. That doesn't negate their love for the system.

Let me know and I will have him get a name of someone to hook up with from the base near you. Trust me there are guys right there that can push you to improve and grow. The comp team comes in and rolls with us before they fly out for a compatition. I roll with all there guys and girls 160 and under. Thats your ticket to keep growing and they are as hungrey for comp as you, no problem setting up a hotbox.
This actually sounds like pretty legit advice.
Truth is, if you keep waiting for situations to be perfect, you'll keep waiting for situations to be perfect. That's wasted time brother. You gotta MAKE the situation. When life closes a door, open a window. If there are no windows, get the tools out and MAKE a window homie.
And, lastly, there is a SMART way to sacrifice. You can avoid a lot of pain by properly preparing. All sacrifices involve risk, but how you prepare for those risks can change a lot. That's why trapese artists use safety nets. Feel me?
The feedback might not have been exactly what you were looking for, but it's good advice. I hope all the best for you.
