Let's see. My first time rolling with Ace *JJ BlackBelt*, he arm bar'd me about 2 seconds after we shook hands after the starting bell. He wasn't trying to be sneaky. We shook hands, bumped fists. I sat back on my but then tried to butt scoot forward....then BAM.
Luis Gutieriez *JJ BlackBelt* probably smashed me in the most smooth effortless fashion I've ever felt. He didn't muscle a single thing at all.
Gabriel Pinto *JJ BlackBelt* has smashed me more times in one round than I can count. It was probably a submission every 30 seconds. 10 taps in a 5 min round.
Also, pretty much any time I roll with the fighters on the fight team in my gym, it's just a guard pass into side control smash fiesta. I think they're all mostly blue belts, but still....holy crap it's a tap fest on my part and I'm just trying to survive longer and longer.
Also one time I was sparring stand up, with shin guards on, I leg kicked my opponent at my personal 90% power, and he somehow placed his knee perfectly into my shin as I kicked him. I fell on the floor immediately after in pain. I'm just glad my leg didn't give out like Anderson Silva's did. I was limping for about 1.5 months and prooobably should have seen a doctor.
Oh wow, come to think of it, I got into a fight with a wrestler back in high school when I was 14. My ONLY "fight" training was about 1.5 years of Tae Kwon Do at the local YMCA...*I didn't know any better.* So when the fight started, I threw some front kicks, side kicks and a few roundhouses all within an inch of his face, but nothing connected because my TKD coach told me "to stay controlled and that if you can practice not hitting your opponent, you certainly will be able to if you need to." Let's just say that his theory and training method didn't work out for me in that fight. The wrestler took me down, mounted me, and proceeded to hit me in the head till his arms gassed out. Luckily that was probably his first time ever ground and pounding someone so I got to keep all my teeth and both orbitals were still intact. I really, REALLY wish I knew even 1 iota of jiu jitsu back then. I probably also might have done better if I didn't get trained in TKD the way that I did with the whole "don't hit your opponent while sparring" thing.
Wait...why are we sharing our "Biggest Ass Whoopings" stories again? I've basically just admitted that I've been getting my ass beat since I was 14 lol.
