Looks like Eddie was right, in his seemingly extreme analysis of the rules change regarding the double pull.

Here at the IBJJF World Championships, watching the blue belts begin their matches, and everybody just double pulled on all mats, and nearly every mat is 50/50 or berimbolo battle right now.

There will be matches where both competitors pull double guard over and over in hopes that they can pull off a berimbolo within 20 seconds. Matches will be ending in -14/-16. It will be like judo except instead of looking for throws they will be looking for berimbolos

My professor, Miriam Cardoso, is competing in a really stacked bracket, going for her 6th world championship.

I'm pretty stoked for her, silly rules or no silly rules.

i agree, from the new ranking system allowing a younger age to attain adult ranks all the way up to these new rules. Mark my words, within the next 20 years, we will see 8 year old junior black belts

Lol. This probably true, but it's funny to me because I was showing M3 to my brother and after you watch it again you can REALLY tell if Royler hadn't grab the pants he wouldn't have a knee left today.
