Instructor Erik Cruz asked that I post a message recap of my private lesson with him if I found it valuable. Here it is.
I'm a white belt from Austin, TX who trained for a few months, then broke my wrist, then left Austin for grad school. After a few years, I wanted to get back to training but wanted a quick refresher before jumping in, so I booked an hour with Erik. In one hour, we did something like the following:
10 minutes with warmup drills
10 min on clinches and takedowns
10 min on position overviews
10 min on escapes
10 min on submissions
10 min recap and light rolling
Anyways, I had a great experience with Erik. It was exactly what I wanted, a refresher of basics so I could get back to training after a few years off. Thumbs up!
