Yeah it is righ before ur first match they wiegh you in..ur in a bull pin and the ring cordinator come and gets u...then u wiegh in depneding how many people are in ur divisiion or if ur first u got like 3 to 7 mins to drink water...also count in a bout 1 lb for the no gi umiform ...no cups are allowed....

that's right. no cups allowed and you weigh in with your gear on - rashguard, boardshorts, and underwear. make sure you got some undies on because if you get pants'd during a match, you will get dq'd. that's 100% true, not a joke. bill cooper got dq'd a few years back because his pants slipped off and dude was going commando.

oh and headgear, knee pads, tights, etc. are not allowed. the only things you're allowed to wear for competition are rashguard, underwear, boardshorts, and mouthguard. that's it.

Women are allowed to wear tights. Not sure why but they said it was legal for girls.

yes. ankle sleeves are prohibited.

again, the only pieces of clothing you are allowed to wear once you step on the competition mat are:

rashguard (ranked)
underwear
boardshorts (plain black)

*mouthguard is optional

*and make sure you bring your driver's license or some form of proper id. you will get dq'ed if you don't have proper id.

Wow, this is some BS. I can't stand training or rolling without a cup. They should make an exeption for the spider cup since it flex's and doesn't really help with armlocks or triangles. It seems really dumb not to be able to protect your boys from a knee or shin when a person is slicing thru on a pass. Just my thoughts.

i think i might be wrong on that.

i just contacted an official ibjjf ref and i was told that apparently knee and ankle sleeves are allowed, but tights are not (although girls are allowed the tights).

i competed in the nogi worlds back in '09 and i wore knee sleeves (no ankle sleeves) and no one said a thing, so it's probably cool for this year.
