    Question for Eddie:

So I keep hearing/reading that before you begin working from the RG you need to first use your foot in the hip to pull youself out from underneath your opponent a bit and turn on your hip to assume an "attacking angle", however every video I see of you teaching you appear to be skipping that step and attacking from directly underneath your opponent/partner:

This is how I play RG as well, but then I see videos of Scotch and Sean Beezy and they definitely hip out so I assume it's a contextual thing. could you explain the advantages of one vs. the other or is it just preference?

Hipping out is important unless you have excellent flexibility
