Carni Defense (MTS 36 easter egg)

I was rewatching episode 36 and I noticed Eddie pulls off a neat Carni escape while rolling with Amir (to his credit, Amir still manages to get the omoplata sweep). He posts the foot of his trapped leg on the mat and then untraps it with his free leg before the finish can be applied. It's simple, but it's something I hadn't thought of.

Once you've escaped the carni, and your opponent grabs your hip to stop you from helicoptering your legs, do you ever switch to a granby roll into the guard? I get swept with the omoplata a lot, and against good opponents it's one of the rare occasions that I get to play the closed guard with them. It still sucks to get swept, but it's good damage control.
