    Work on flexibility in that hip joint, I think whats happening with you is that you are grabbing the ankle and since you don't have the flexibility in the hip, the leverage from grabbing the ankle is causing your knee to extend, work on the flexibility by applying pressure at the knee not the ankle. Eddie has a few stretching exercises at the start of most of his DVD's if my memory serves me correctly.
