You could try to bring him to your gym and give him a dose of humility there.

This isn't the last time you'll run into someone just like this. Are you gonna put them all in their place? You've gotten a lot of different bits of advice but it sounds like you've kinda made up your mind on what you want to do. This is your journey but I hope you don't do something you'll regret.

    for the record i'm only 5'7 145.
my GF's younger brother is my 5'7 aswell and weighs about 165.
I like to think I'm very humble and respectful in jiu jitsu and life in general, I dont pick fights, but never back from them, nor pick on anyone or boast about any ability really.

however, my GF's younger brother is a High school football player and is really cocky.
ya hes slightly bigger than me, but this kid is so timid we're talkin about a kid that probobly only been in 1,3 maybe 5 fights at the most in his lifetime.

hes big for his age, and his parents pump his head and make him think hes the biggest *&^% in the world. The thing that PI***s me off is he gets cocky and thinks he can beat me and he strokes his ego by tryin to push me to theside with a hand instead of bein respectful and sayin a simple, excuse me or scuse me bro.

Its gotten to the point where i've told my GF that the next time he wants to play that game, i wont care if their parents are there or not, I'm gonna check him real quick and choke his *** out.

However, **Would it be wrong to check a kid younger than you thats your size, even though they deserve it?**
my thoughts say ya, dont be a d*&^ for no reason to anyone, let alone someone who may be your future inlaw.

Anyone agree that its perfectly fine to check em`
Challenge him to a laxative eating contest. The first to wimp out loses. This is the ultimate game of ultimate ego.

For starters, I'd say it sounds like he's just immature -- that's his problem not yours. He's getting conflicting information from the people around him about his personality or who he *should* be and he's at that age where he is just figuring out who he is. Sometimes he's going to be a dick, sometimes he'll be a decent guy.

You wouldn't be in the wrong to point out when he's not acting like a civilized human being -- just be sure YOU'RE being a civilized human being when you do it. Treat him as you would any other respectful individual. Just calmly but assertively point out that he's being rather rude and that normal civilized people say things like "excuse me" and "please". If he provokes you then (meaning actually puts hands on you) at that point NOW you wouldn't be out of line to show him a little 10th Planet love. Unless or until that happens, you'd just be attacking him not "checking" him.

its always been my moral understanding to never start a fight but never run from one.

I dont want to hurt the kid, just want him to get some sense into his head. even if i dont do anything to him, sooner or later hes gonna do somethin or say something to the wrong person and their gonna do millions worse than what i would do.

nah, I'm not gonna deal with every single person there is, cause chances are, after that one meeting, we'll mos tlikely never cross paths again. only reason why this kid bothers me is that its amazingly annoying and hes got the thought stuck in his head that he'll get away with it every time because i've tried to keep the peace and just let it go. now it becomming more annoying and yet neither of his parents or sister seem to want to correct his behavior or set him straight.

lol we're talkin about a kid that has the high school jock ego, but has never been in any fight let alone real argument in his life.
which is why I wont strike him with my fist, its one of those peopel you suspect will freak as soon the fight comes to the ground. any strikes is just uncalled for in the matter.

just talk shit to the person you don't like until they try to fight you then its self defense. if they don't fight you then at least you feel better and don't have to put up with there shit.

    Ah, the ancient mystery:

Answer not a fool according to his folly,
lest you be like him yourself.
Answer a fool according to his folly,
lest he be wise in his own eyes.

You can't win without being like him. And if you don't fight, he'll still be an arrogant jerk.

Invite him to roll with you at the gym. You'll earn his respect. He'll change his tone quick. Just stay respectful.
