Eddie Bravo's Rolling style, The Lockdown, Double under pass......questions questions

So I have really been studying through all the vidz that are available of Eddie. I have always admired it and tried to duplicate it. I really enjoy seeing him roll in the last two mastering the systems. I have a few serious questions that i would love to have opinions to.

First of all I love the tenth planet game. When i first started jiu jitsu it was straight from mastering the rubber guard and twister. When concerning Eddie's game it looks like he plays mainly from these books. you know some lockdown to a lockdown sweep to twister side and the truck. yeah that is as awesome as a microwaved honey bun. (with milk). hey throw some rubber guard in there too. but he does it like a boss! against high level guys.

my questions are this. i play mainly from the mastering books but i have added stuff like x guard and other various shit into my game. im always looking to add shit to my game.......however i am thinking this may not be good. Should i just work on the stuff iv always done and improve it (like lockdown rubber guard twister shit) or keep adding to game paths. it seems eddie works the same stuff like a boss. I just want to be as confident as him to pull lockdown and get that fucking sweep every time i am in lockdown. and it seems he likes the double under pass. i get to that pass the most but dont finish it. cuz i suck. lol

so i have been thinking instead of adding new shit would it be a good idea just to pull lockdown every time i roll? hey im bound to get better at it right? i mean people have trouble passing it. im okay at it. is that better than getting new gameplans and trying to expand? Maybe just improving what i already do? Sorry for the long ass post.

Should always grow your game Don. That is what practice is for. When competing or any real deal application use your A game sh!t with a dash of chilly pepper to it so they taste it for a while. Hope this helps your question.

yeah i know. iv just been thinking a lot though. i see eddie (understand im a huge fan lol) just pull halfguard all the time and now im wondering. im trying new stuff and getting smashed becuz of it. its natural to get smashed when you try new stuff. so i just wonder if i should just improve the shit i do.............. i mean i do have a full game so i think should i add or just improve......i mean your gonna add some shit over time anyway but i seem to be in a rush to do things.......anyhow thanks for advice your much better than me so i appreciate it.

Everyone needs to develop their own game. If you are peppering other stuff into what you are learning from this site, then that is a good thing.

If everything you'd ever need to know were in the first two books, then they wouldn't come out with a third (or a fouth someday). Use what works for you.

what i wanna know is, in the video with eddie rolling against einstein on MTS 5, he does some sort of modified boa around the 35 minute mark, like he goes straight to the twist back without getting on his knees first, by utilizing some sort of reverse stomp maneuver. is this one of eddies secret techniques, or just something he pulled out of his asse in the heat of the moment? cause it looked awsome and if it is an official technique i wanna see eddie go over it
