maybe i will try it but what kind of things do you eat so your not lacking vitamin B12, iron, vitamin D, calcium, iodine, and omega-3 fatty acids, and keep in mind there is only one store where i live and they don't sell seaweed and other exotic foods.

b12 is in your system for years, chances are you aren't deficient. Just take a B vitamin complex, or it's also in fortified soy milk. Iron is found in abundance in leafy greens...spinach etc. Vitamin D is not in food anyway (it's added to milk and not very helpful in milk anyway) Use a supplement of vit. d whether vegan or not. Calcium..again tons found in leafy greens, more than you would get in milk (also in fortified OJ). Omega 3...flax seeds or even a fish oil supp...though from most seeds you'll be fine...you'll get plenty of iodine via even a small amount of salt in your diet..also found in strawberries.

I know from being on both sides of the fence meat eating and not how good I feel now and how strong I've become since I have stopped eating meat and animal products, so for someone who runs his mouth and is being disrespectful he should try something before he knocks it.

Its like the USA when Jiu jitsu first arrived everyone knocked it till the saw its awesomeness and tried it for themselves!

Today at the Borders liquidation sale, I just picked up this book:
Thrive Fitness: The Vegan-Based Training Program for Maximum Strength, Health, and Fitness

    http://www.amazon.com/Thrive-Fitness.../dp/0738213624

It was only $4 so I figured, I can't lose. The only downside on the surface is that they heavily promote their "Thrive Supplements" throughout the book. I can overlook that and replace with supplements I use.

Has anyone else out there found any good books on being a vegan/vegetarian athlete?
