Pat “Daywalker” Cherf – 10th Planet Gulf Shores
Pat is the head instructor of 10th Planet Gulf Shores and a dedicated competitor and coach with over a decade of experience in both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Beginning his journey in 2011, Pat has developed a well-rounded, submission-focused style that blends technical precision with the fast-paced, aggressive system that defines 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu.
He earned his black belt under Josh Yelverton, a respected representative of the 10th Planet system under Sean Applegate, continuing a lineage rooted in innovation and high-level competition.
Pat has built an impressive competitive resume across some of the top submission grappling platforms in the country. During the 2023–2024 season, he was ranked #7 in the 60kg division in the ADCC Open rankings on FloGrappling.
His accomplishments include:

- Veteran Competitor – Sapateiro Invitational
- Veteran Competitor – Midwest Finishers (155 lb & 135 lb divisions)

- Multiple-Time NAGA U.S. Nationals Expert Champion
- Multiple-Time Newbreed Expert Champion
Known for his submission-oriented approach and relentless pace, Pat has earned a reputation for finishing matches and pushing the action—qualities he emphasizes heavily in his coaching.
As an instructor, he is committed to developing well-rounded athletes while maintaining a culture that balances high-level competition with accessibility for all skill levels. His program focuses on fundamentals, positional control, and submission efficiency, all within the dynamic and evolving framework of 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu.
