Head Coach – Mike Wilson
Intro:
My name is Mike Wilson, I’m a 1st ° 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Black Belt with 14 years of Jiu Jitsu & MMA training, with a decade of teaching experience. I’m very excited to announce that I will be bringing 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu to Whittier, CA! Utilizing the systems I have learned training under some of the best coaches in the world, such as Eddie Bravo, Justin Flores, & Casey Halstead, I will bring a proven approach to the training room, where we emphasize skill & movement acquisition in addition to technical nuance.
Background:
As a BJJ Brown Belt, I moved to Las Vegas to learn and mentor under Coach Casey Halstead in 2017. In 2018 I was made Head Coach of 10th Planet Downtown Las Vegas, where I was fortunate enough to train many high level UFC, Bellator, & ONE FC athletes. Being apart of fight camps for some of the top fighters in the World, such as Joe Benevidez, Lance Palmer, Ashlee Evans Smith, Tim Elliot, Julian Erosa, Ben Saunders, Anthony Birchak, Natan Levy, & more.
Earning my Black Belt in 2019, I have competed at all belt levels in the Gi, NoGi, & MMA competition. I am recognized by the IBJJF as a certified Black Belt, and I’m currently pursuing my Judo Black Belt under USA Olympic Judo Coach, Justin Flores. I train MMA out of Blackhouse MMA, as well as weekly training at 10th Planet HQ directly under Eddie Bravo. I spend my free time training Functional Patterns, doing Hot Yoga, playing with my dog Rocko, & enjoying the so cal lifestyle .
