I prefer books for long distance learning but there are some details that are better shown on dvd. Depends on your learning style. With MTS being so cheap it's really no-brainer to sign up for it.

All of the above. They all hold very valuable info. MTS keeps you up to date on the newest techniques but the DVDs and books show you the foundation of the system.

I can't really learn from books. DVDs and mastering the system are winners for sure though

I would say if you were forced to pick one, got with a pro subscription and start watching all the instructional footage in teh MTS episodes.
But if you can get all, then get all. Books, DVDs and MTS.

Personally MTS tops them all for me. Unique in its presentation and content. 11/10

I agree, but the Twister DVD is so badass, and the books....
...well, I am a book junkie.

They are all good and compliment each other, don't forget to add Coach Herzog's TWIR to your curriculum as well.

If you're new to the system, go with the books.

If you've been following and implementing the 10th Planet ideas into your game for a while, I'd say go with MTS.

The books have been a great resource for me. I can take them anywhere and be looking at what I want to study within just a few seconds. All of Eddie's books are well organized and easy to navigate. However, books are difficult to learn from in the beginning until you get a basic understanding of some fundamentals. So if you are completely new to jiu jitsu it may be best to stick to the more descriptive DVDs and MTS episodes in the beginning.
