Shirt collars rip all of the time when you grab them like a gi. You better use your t-shirt choke on someone who can't fight.

    calm the fuck down kids.
Gi and NoGi are nearly different sports. Just deal with it and stop bashing.

dont act like you wouldnt sell shit like that if YOU had something worth selling.

do you also get mad at marcelo for charging so much for his website? dude is making money.
if he went out and said his 'boiled peanuts' are the best...who cares. dude is good at what he does.

if you dont like it, DONT FUCKING WATCH IT.

Focus on something you do like, and quit your bitching. No one wants to hear it here. No one.

Please do not try to deflect your rant onto me, this is all about you and your anger towards the Gracie brothers, what they stand for, and what they teach. Simply that and nothing more. You feel so adamant and so strong in your opinions than you should prove to us and more importantly to yourself that you are correct in your presumptions.

As a student of Bushido, I would never disrespect any practitioner of any discipline. That is counter to the honor of Jiu Jitsu being a Martial Art. I love both Gi and No Gi- I train them equally. My Gi game actually incorporates A LOT of what I take from No Gi, and more importantly from Mr. Eddie Bravo himself- I have long flexible legs and a lot of what 10th Planet teaches benefits me greatly- for my particular body style. I follow Mr. Bravo TO LEARN and to BETTER my Jiu Jitsu. Conversely, my Gi training benefits my No Gi- they are the Yin and Yang of my BJJ.

Be Well and Good Luck Sir!

    Matt-
I did not do a cross collar choke- I pulled one side and wrapped it across to the other and then replaced the hand so as to be behind his neck like a garrote. Does that make sense?

    You're good bro.
Don't listen to ignorance in any form. I don't care if it was coming from another Senior Member as myself, or Eddie...you should never allow ignorance.

EACH has its application. But just because someone doesnt think it works for THEM, doesnt mean that its worthless all together.
10PJJ has a certain focus, MMA.
Fucking thumb-wrestling can translate into a street fight...with the right teacher. Dont hate.
Hate in the Jiu Jitsu world is doing nothing but make ALL of us look ignorant and arrogant.

Just say- "its not my style" and be done with it.

These dumb battles do nothing but make the originator or the ignorance look like a jackass.

Thank you for the warm welcome and for the patience in responding to me. I merely point out that you may wish to test their skill level to verify your presumption of their capability with regard to the following statements you made:

    1. I don't like these guys anyway...and the GI is gay...

    2. GI is super gay and these two tools are just giant salesmen. Really really bad salesmen. The problem is, is their target audience is stupid. I wish they would stop talking to people like they are 4.

    3. I really just don't like those two and i wish more people would start to see through them.

    4. i don't like to be a hater but i don't like this two either.

    5. I refuse to accept what these guys are doing to Jiu Jitsu.

If you don't like them, and they are "tools" that are not practicing Jiu Jitsu, than you should have no problem wrapping them up in a roll and tapping them out. No?

Respect Bro- you never know when Karma is going to come full circle.

    Regards,
    Robert
Robert...at no point in Cody's rant did he degrade the level of skill they had, merely that he did not like them as individuals and what he feels they are doing to JJ. So there's no need for anyone to challenge anyone. He doesn't like Gi and he doesn't like them which he's stated multiple times. This is a mute point. The topic of this discussion in the end is Gi vs NoGi like we've all seen a million times over in any forum and discussion, just in one of many formats.

I started out a Gi guy, still train Gi, but also thoroughly enjoy NoGi as a style (10th Planet) because it's completely different (to me) than BJJ NoGi. The issue is that there will always be folks that claim Gi is better and those that claim NoGi is better...then you have folks like me that could care less and simply enjoy Jiu Jitsu no matter the apparel you train in.

Each has their benefits and disadvantages over the other and it all boils down to the specific situation you're in. I know for a fact that Cody (if not now, will soon) find that those NE winters can get pretty rough and you will not see anyone stripping down into just their shorts to fight in the street during January. Likewise, you will not find anyone throwing layers of thick clothing one in the middle of July that live in the south. With that, everyone enjoy...much love!

LOL...gotta get in and play every now and then. Besides, I've had this conversation tons of times and it always ends with the same thing. Gi is Gay...well, at least Gi guys keep their clothes on when they roll with other men. =) Can't wait to get up there next time. I'll mess with you like I did David back in the day. I threw my Krav Maga shirt at him after I tapped him because he was making fun of it...I'll throw my Gi top at you if I can catch you of course. You Omaha guys are friggin tough! Derek has you guys on Jiu Jitsu steroids out there!!!
