WTF?! We use the unified rules of mma, exactly like the UFC in amateur events.
From wiki,
In April 2000, the California State Athletic Commission voted unanimously in favor of regulations that later became the foundation for the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. However when the legislation was sent to California's capital for review, it was determined that the sport fell outside the jurisdiction of the CSAC, rendering the vote superfluous.[1]
So we use the unified rules (for fights my coach promotes) but one thing that sucks is, testing for blood borne disease is up to the organizers of the event. Also we have a lot of half ass bullshit amateur "mma" with 30 second stand up rules and shit. CAMO is trying to fuck it up even more but as of now amateur mma in CA is basically unregulated.
